Mariners should proceed with caution while transiting the area.

Work will commence Sunday June 21st, 2026, and continue through Friday October 2nd, 2026. Sunday work hours will be 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday work hours will be 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. During this maintenance project a full channel closure will be in effect during the timeframes listed above. Vessels will be unable to transit through the bridge during the closure. On scene equipment will consist of a 30×60 tug and barge with associated dive equipment and one safety vessel. The ongoing repairs are scheduled to be completed by August of 2026. Periodically each of the three spans will be closed to vessel traffic at no time will more than one arch be closed to vessel traffic. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. On scene equipment will consist of a moveable spud barge and tending vessel. The equipment will be staged in portions of the navigable channel during the repairs and unable to move without advanced notification. Repair work is currently on-going in the Boston Arch, and it is anticipated that the equipment will remain staged in the Boston Arch until the Spring of 2026 at which time it will be repositioned to facilitate final repairs to the bridge substructure. Bridge repair operations will commence on May 11, 2026, and continue through December 1, 2026. Work Hours will be Monday through Friday for 8 hours per day varying between day and night shifts subject to Mass DOT approval. On scene equipment will consist of a push boat and a 20′ x 50′ Barge. The equipment will be staged in the navigable channel during work hours, reducing the horizontal clearance of the channel to 20 feet. Vessels requiring the entire 40-foot navigable channel are asked to provide 24-hour advanced notification to the on-scene contractor. All support vessels and work barges will be staged outside the navigable channel during non-working hours. Mariners without local knowledge are advised to transit with extreme caution and only during plus tides. Mariners are urged to use caution while transiting the area.

There are other areas of shoaling throughout the Westport Harbor Channel reducing the available depth of water. Mariners are advised to use caution while navigating this area
Bridges Buzzards Bay Main Channel – Weweantic River/General/Bridges/Construction Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will conduct bridge demolition and replacement operations on the Route 6 Bridges over the Weweantic River in Marion and Wareham, MA. Beginning May 1, 2026 through September 10, 2028, multiple work boats, barges, cranes, and support equipment will be operating in the vicinity of the bridges. Construction activities may occur within multiple spans and channels; however, a navigable channel will remain open at all times. Construction equipment, including barges, cofferdams, and work platforms, will be present within and adjacent to the navigable channel. Short-term channel restrictions may occur during active construction operations, including pile driving, sheeting, and erection activities, and will be limited to periods when such operations are in progress. Mariners are advised to exercise caution and reduce wake when transiting the area. Four bottom-mounted passive acoustic monitoring devices will be deployed at specified coordinates: Sensor 1 (40°53’31.499″ N, 72°17’10.612″ W), Sensor 2 (40°52’33.985″ N, 72°18’8.856″ W), Sensor 3 (40°52’34.698″ N, 72°19’44.666″ W), and Sensor 4 (40°51’37.181″ N, 72°20’42.911″ W). Each device will be moored to the seafloor with a footprint of approximately one square foot and a line floating up to eight feet above the seafloor, at depths between 50 and 60 feet. The monitoring will be continuous, operating 24/7 from June 7, 2026, to May 1, 2027.

LAA/RNA New Rochelle Harbor North Approach – Middle Channel/General/LAA/RNA/COTP Restriction General/LAA/RNA/COTP Restriction From: 2024-12-16 To: 2027-05-31 The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for certain waters of Long Island Sound in the vicinity of the Glen Island Approach Bridge, New Rochelle, NY, for construction vessels and machinery involved in the rehabilitation project of the bridge. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards associated with the bridge construction between December 2, 2024, through May 27, 2027. When enforced, this regulation prohibits persons and vessels from being in the safety zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port New York or a designated representative. DATES: This rule is effective without notice from December 3, 2024, through 5 p.m. on May 27, 2027. For the purposes of enforcement, actual notice will be used from midnight on December 2, 2024, until December 3, 2024. This rule will only be enforced during periods when construction operations at the bridge are in progress. Comments and related material must be received by the Coast Guard on or before March 3, 2025. Hazards To Navigation Portsmouth To Cape Ann – Plum Island Sound/General/Hazards To Navigation/Shoaling Reported Shoaling exists in Plum Island Sound between Plum Island Sound Entrance buoy 4 (LLNR 9310) and Plum Island Sound Entrance buoy 6 (LLNR 9320), aids are not properly marking best water. Mariners are advised to use caution while navigating this area. All of Plum Island is particularly susceptible to shoaling, the area between 4 and 6 being the worst at the mouth of the channel. Last year the unit partnered with the harbor Master moving the aids to mark the best water. Even though the aids are in the best possible locations that water is still shallow at low tide and mariners should use caution while navigating in this area

General President Roads – Mystic River/General/Miscellaneous President Roads – Mystic River/General/Miscellaneous | Miscellaneous | MA – CHARLESTOWN – MYSTIC RIVER – AUTOPORT – M/V MINCHAH CARGO OPERATIONS – MEDITERRANEAN MOOR DURING CARGO OPERATIONS Mariners are advised that the M/V Minchah (IMO #9131955) will be conducting cargo operations at the Diversified Automotive Facility (Autoport) on June 29th from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The M/V Minchah will be moored perpendicular to the pier (Mediterranean moor) at the Autoport on the Mystic River. On scene equipment will consist of two tugboats keeping the M/V Minchah on station during cargo operations. Two anchors will be deployed off the bow of the vessel. Hazards To Navigation Quantuck Canal – Moriches Bay/General/Hazards To Navigation/Shoaling Reported General/Hazards To Navigation/Shoaling Reported From: 2024-09-13 To: 2039-12-28 NY-SHINNECOCK BAY TO EAST ROCKAWAY INLET (Chart 12352)-MORICHES BAY-Update 2/8/22 Severe shoaling is present in Moriches Bay along the Long Island Intracoastal Waterway in the vicinity of Moriches Bay Buoys 21, 24, 26, 27, 28, and 29 extending the entire width of the channel at nearly all tide levels. The area from Buoys 24 to 29 is only navigable at the operator’s risk. The most severe area of shoaling can be found between buoys 26 and 28 and is less than half the charted channel depth in some areas. Mariners should be aware that the Aids to Navigation in these areas are unreliable due to shoaling and mariners are strongly advised to seek alternate routes. Moriches Bay dredging has been completed. Shoaling has been reported in Moriches Bay along the Long Island Intercoastal Waterway in the vicinity of Moriches Bay Buoy 17, 18, 21, 26, 27, 28 and 29 extending the entire width of the channel and at any tide level. Mariners are advised that shoaling has been identified and extends the entire width of the channel to a least depth of 2 feet mean low water (MLW). Miscellaneous Sector Southeastern New England, Submerged Lands Act (SLA) – Buzzards Bay Main Channel/General/Miscellaneous General/Survey Operations From: 2026-06-03 To: 2026-09-30 Autonomous surface vessel (ASV) by Sedna Robotics in Clark’s Cove, Massachusetts, from June 8 to September 30, 2026. The ASV, named “Warden,” is a 7-foot vessel with a yellow hull, marked as “Uncrewed / Research Vessel,” and transmits as “Uncrewed” on AIS. It will operate within a 50-foot radius, station-keeping, and may transit at 2 knots during daytime hours. Operations will occur on weekdays from 0700 to 1800 local time at the coordinates 41º36’00″N, 70°55’17″W. The vessel will display a flashing amber beacon at night and can be repositioned within 30 minutes upon request via the Sedna operations line, which is available 24/7 and displayed on the vessel.

Four bottom-mounted passive acoustic monitoring devices will be deployed at specified coordinates: Sensor 1 (40°53’31.499″ N, 72°17’10.612″ W), Sensor 2 (40°52’33.985″ N, 72°18’8.856″ W), Sensor 3 (40°52’34.698″ N, 72°19’44.666″ W), and Sensor 4 (40°51’37.181″ N, 72°20’42.911″ W). Each device will be moored to the seafloor with a footprint of approximately one square foot and a line floating up to eight feet above the seafloor, at depths between 50 and 60 feet. The monitoring will be continuous, operating 24/7 from June 7, 2026, to May 1, 2027.
