Periodically each of the three spans will be closed to vessel traffic at no time will more than one arch be closed to vessel traffic. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. On scene equipment will consist of a moveable spud barge and tending vessel. The equipment will be staged in portions of the navigable channel during the repairs and unable to move without advanced notification. Repair work is currently on-going in the Boston Arch, and it is anticipated that the equipment will remain staged in the Boston Arch until the Spring of 2026 at which time it will be repositioned to facilitate final repairs to the bridge substructure. Bridge repair operations will commence on May 11, 2026, and continue through December 1, 2026. Work Hours will be Monday through Friday for 8 hours per day varying between day and night shifts subject to Mass DOT approval. On scene equipment will consist of a push boat and a 20′ x 50′ Barge. The equipment will be staged in the navigable channel during work hours, reducing the horizontal clearance of the channel to 20 feet. Vessels requiring the entire 40-foot navigable channel are asked to provide 24-hour advanced notification to the on-scene contractor. The ASV, named “Warden,” is a 7-foot vessel with a yellow hull, marked as “Uncrewed / Research Vessel,” and transmits as “Uncrewed” on AIS. It will operate within a 50-foot radius, station-keeping, and may transit at 2 knots during daytime hours. Operations will occur on weekdays from 0700 to 1800 local time at the coordinates 41º36’00″N, 70°55’17″W. The vessel will display a flashing amber beacon at night and can be repositioned within 30 minutes upon request via the Sedna operations line, which is available 24/7 and displayed on the vessel. |

The operation is scheduled to take place between June 16 and August 15, 2026, utilizing the dredge “PRONCKAI,” deck barge “THING 2,” and tug “SITKA.” Work will occur daily from 6 AM to 8 PM, weather permitting. The rock pile rubble will be deposited in the Yarmouth Offshore Reef Site in position 41-36-24.4N, 70-11-7.46W. All vessels will be monitoring VHF channels 13/16 and operating on channel 68.
